March 8th may be International Women’s Day – shout out to all my lovely ladies! – but the entirety of March is meant to celebrate women. And so, here is my list of 10 romantic comedies to watch in March, all directed by women.


01. Friends With Kids (2011)

Two best friends decide to have a child together while keeping their relationship platonic, so they can avoid the toll kids can take on romantic relationships.

02. Always Be My Maybe (2019)

Childhood sweethearts have fallen out and haven’t spoken for 15 years. They reconnect as adults when Sasha runs into Marcus in San Francisco. Although the old sparks are still there, the couple live in different worlds.

03. Something’s Gotta Give (2003)

A womanizer on the cusp of being a senior citizen with a taste for young women falls in love with an accomplished woman closer to his age, who also happens to be his current fling’s mother.

04. Set it Up (2018)

Two overworked and underpaid assistants devise a plan to get their bosses off their backs by setting them up with each other.

05. Love and Basketball (2000)

When an engaged reporter in Baltimore hears a widower on the radio talking about his late wife, she instantly becomes smitten and wonders if he could be her destiny.
