Black History Month is all about celebrating Black creativity, joy, and storytelling, and I believe rom-coms absolutely belong in that conversation. The films listed below span decades, from sharp ’90s classics to fresh modern takes, featuring memorable characters that are funny, complicated, and deeply human. Whether they’re soulful, messy, glamorous, or quietly tender, each of these movies is well worth revisiting, or discovering for the first time, this Black History Month.
Halloween is a season that’s grown on me over the years. Christmas remains my favorite, but there is something undeniably fun and spooky about the month of October. The pumpkins and foggy nights, horror films, and books. Horror is my second favorite genre after romance, so I thought it would be fun to find 10 MORE movies to watch during October for lovers of both genres! You can find my initial Halloween list right here.

Are you stuck inside due to cold temperatures, rain, and snow like I am? I can’t remember the last time I saw the sun! And it’s still January? How? Has January always been this long? Anyway, if you’re like me and living in a freezing tundra, I’ve got ten movies that might get you through until those spring flowers begin to bloom.
Happy Pride, everyone! Even though we’re seeing more progression in Hollywood regarding telling LGBTQ+ stories, the genre is still woefully underfed. However, there are some pretty great queer romantic comedies out there, and I’ve compiled a list of ten that I think are worth watching this month… or any month, really! If you’ve got a suggestion of your own, feel free to leave a comment.
If you’ve got Netflix and you’re looking for a romantic comedy to watch, I’ve got the 10 Best Romantic Comedies to watch on the streaming service as of today, April 9th, 2022. Please remember that this list is only comprised of movies I’ve seen. Many are Netflix originals, so they should always be available to you. Meanwhile, a few may end up being taken off the service eventually. If that’s the case, check out Just Watch to find out where they may be streaming next!
What’s Galentine’s Day, you ask? “Oh, it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.” – Leslie Knope (Parks and Recreation)
Welcome to my favorite time of the year! Autumn may be my favorite season, but Christmas is my favorite holiday. It’s the lights, the smell of evergreen trees, the Christmas carols… Commercialism aside, there’s just something in the air around this time of year that makes everything feel magical. One of my favorite things to do is to watch holiday movies with my family. That includes (gasp!) romantic comedies that take place around Christmas.
It’s that time of year! Beaches! Vacations! Swimsuits! Sweat, heat, and humidity! But, if by some chance you decide you want to sit inside and chill in the A/C for a little while, here is a list of 10 summer movies that you can enjoy without experiencing swamp ass or boob lagoon!
