  • A longtime fan of Jennifer Lopez's filmography, Brett Goldstein cast Edward James Olmos, who played her father in "Selena" (1997), to portray her father in "Office Romance".
  • Brett Goldstein developed the film specifically for Jennifer Lopez and first sent the script to her team in 2023, but she initially passed because of scheduling conflicts. Goldstein later resubmitted the project, insisting that the film would only be made with Lopez in the lead role, which ultimately convinced her to join.
  • During an interview for Ted Lasso in 2022, Goldstein joked about Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's marriage, saying: "I believed that one day, I would marry J-Lo, and after last night, I was like, 'Maybe all hope is dead.' Love is love, but sometimes, they marry Ben Affleck." After the split, he co-wrote the script, saying he wouldn't have made the film if she hadn't agreed to star. While their chemistry and cheeky banter sparked rumors they were secretly dating in real life, both actors have firmly shut down the speculation, insisting they are just friends and fantastic co-stars.
  • Betty Gilpin stated that she learned a lot from Jennifer Lopez being a working mother herself, saying Lopez many times changed the film's schedule so Gilpin could make it home for her kid's bedtimes, birthday parties and such.
