- The hotel restaurant where Topher Grace and Anne Hathaway have dinner is the Beverly Wilshire, which is the same hotel featured in Pretty Woman.
- When we see Julia Roberts and Bradley Cooper for the first time, the Captain says “…three days of rain.” The two starred together in a Broadway play called “Three Days of Rain” in 2006.
- Actor Joe Mantegna has a cameo as the angry driver who is hit by Reed’s florist van.
- Several of Garry Marshall’s family members have small roles in the film: his wife, Barbara; his daughter, Kathleen Marshall; his son, Scott Marshall; and his grandchildren, Sam and Lilly Marshall. He also filmed a scene with his sister, the late Penny Marshall, but it was cut from the movie.
