Thursday Movie Picks: Famous Person and Non-Famous Person Romance (Romance Edition)

Famous Person and Non-Famous Person Romance (Romance Edition)

Wandering through the Shelves hosts a weekly movie challenge in which you choose 3-5 movies based on that Thursday’s theme and explain why you chose those movies.

Today’s theme is Famous Person and Non-Famous Person (Romance Edition), so here are my choices!

Anna & Will (Notting Hill)

I mean… duh! Awkward, bumbling Hugh Grant playing nobody bookstore owner Will Thacker, falling for Anna, the most famous woman in the world? Yes, please. Especially when that woman is literally the most famous woman in the world at the time, Julia Roberts. This may be my favorite Julia Roberts rom-com, and I adore these two together.

Charlotte & Fred (Long Shot)

One of the best romantic comedies of the past few years, Long Shot, has the very worldly, very beautiful US Secretary of State falling in love with Fred Flarsky, a journalist whom she once babysat when they were kids. Charlize Theron and Seth Rogan have some really amazing chemistry, and their romance is ridiculously believable. If you haven’t seen this one, please give it a watch!

Rosalee & Tad (Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!)

Kate Bosworth plays Rosalee, a small-town girl who has a massive crush on a famous actor, Tad Hamilton. She wins a contest to, you guessed it, go on a date with him (something he’s using to repair his bad reputation), and the two fall for each other. Of course, her best friend Pete (who harbors unrequited feelings for her) enters the equation to form a love triangle, but if I’m being honest, I was rooting for Tad.
